Eat avocado for gut health.
Avocado is a great source of potassium and fiber, among other nutrients, but according to recent research published in the Journal of Nutrition, it’s also an excellent ingredient for gut health. "We know eating avocados helps you feel full and reduces blood cholesterol concentration, but we did not know how it influences the gut microbes, and the metabolites the microbes produce," says Sharon Thompson, RD, lead author on the paper. The research found that those who ate avocado daily had a more diverse gut and more gut microbes that broke down fiber.

Combat ski skin.
Higher altitude, lower humidity, and direct exposure to UV rays can wreak havoc on your skin. Gervaise Gerstner, MD, a New York City–based dermatologist, recommends beginning a hydration regimen a few days before hitting the slopes and then consistently re-applying lip treatments and mineral-based sunscreen between runs.
Your regimen:
Pre-sunscreen: Apply Dr. Barbara Sturm Ski Cream to face, neck, and hands.
Every hour: Use Supergoop Zincscreen 100% Mineral Lotion.
Throughout the day: Clé de Peau Beauté UV Lip Treatment
Post-Ski: Apply La Mer The Cleansing Oil.
Nightly: Leave a Susanne Kaufmann Moisturizing Mask on for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
