ROLL YOUR PLANTAR FASCIA.

Plantar fasciitis is common among athletes. Make sure the connective tissue is pliable by foam rolling it, as Michelle Lovene suggests in her TB12 Total Body Tune-up class on Equinox+. Place a vibrating or regular foam roller under the bottom of your foot, just like Markcus Blair in the video at right. Foam roll from the back of the foot all the way up to the toes, and rotate it side to side. “You can also squeeze your toes like you're making a fist then open them up wide,” says Lovene. “We’re working that whole plantar fascia here.”

TRY HIKING MEDITATION.

Jaime Murillo, personal training manager at Miracle Mile in Los Angeles, has been exploring new hiking terrain. Most recently, he hiked Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. “I love the serenity of hiking,” he says. “You can hear the wind swirl around the mountains and the trees swaying. This environment allows me to meditate. On a trail that's quiet and difficult, even the most scatterbrained person is forced to focus on the task at hand.” Murillo suggests searching for hikes through the AllTrails app, which categorizes by difficulty and includes reviews and pictures.

EAT THE SEASON.

Celebrate the first day of spring with this bright green salad, which features seasonal produce like baby artichokes, asparagus, peas, and arugula. Lentils add protein to the dish, which is topped with an herby pistachio salsa verde. Since the salad can be served at room temperature, feel free to prepare the components ahead of time. This recipe makes extra salsa verde—use it to brighten up grilled meat, fish, and vegetables.

CLEAN THE OVEN NATURALLY.

Instead of using harsh chemicals, Faith Durand, Columbus, Ohio-based editor-in-chief of The Kitchn, recommends cleaning your oven with natural ingredients.

Here’s how:

Mix a ½ cup of baking soda with 3 tablespoons of water to form a paste (use more as needed), then coat the inside of your cool oven and leave on overnight. In the morning wipe off with a damp cloth. Spritz with white vinegar and do a final wipe down to further disinfect and add shine.
